Sean Oh is an illustrator based in Salt Lake City, Utah. He studied Stage & Special Effect Makeup in Korea and then moved to the US to study illustration. He received his BA in Illustration at Brigham Young University.
Telling stories with art intrigued him in such a way that he decided he wanted to create children’s picture books. His artwork embodies the purity and innocence of childhood, which is enjoyable for children, but also reminds adults of their inner child as well.
Sean draws inspiration from lots of different art techniques such as linocut prints, screen printing, and risograph. He is experimental in his medium, combining digital and traditional methods. Using layers of colors as opposed to mixing them, creates his significant vibrant look.
Sean won the Merit Award by 3x3 International Illustration Annual No.17. His work was also made into the final selection of Unpublished Picture Book Showcase 2 by dPICTUS.
