Rhiannon Harvey

Rhiannon Harvey grew up on board a 43-foot sailboat as her family completed a west-to-east partial circumnavigation of North America via the Panamá Canal. This trip left her with a lifelong love for boats, marine life, and adventure. 

As an undergraduate at Duke University, she majored in marine biology with dual minors in French and creative writing. She has worked on research and conservation projects around the world, and has spent the last five years as a first mate and dive instructor aboard private yachts. 

Her writing has won Blue Pencil Agency’s 2025 Pitch Prize, been the YA Runner-Up in Book Pipeline’s 2025 Unpublished Contest, and received third place in the Gutsy Great Novelist 2026 Chapter One Prize, among others. She is currently earning an MFA in creative writing at the American University of Paris.
