Pamela Morgan

Pamela Morgan is a children’s book author and playwright from the Midwest. She has written for ChicagoNow, a community platform of the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Parent Magazine, and Hearst Magazines. Her plays have been produced across the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and India. Her debut picture book, Simply Skye, illustrated by Heather Bell and published by Amicus, released in July 2023 and was a finalist for the Golden Kite Award and named one of Autostraddle’s 10 Picture Books to Teach Little Ones About Gender Expression.
Pamela holds a BA in Elementary and Special Education and an MFA in Creative Writing from Augsburg University, where she spent four semesters interning at the Howling Bird Press. She is the current co-Regional Advisor for SCBWI: Illinois and loves planning and organizing events and community opportunities for members across the state. Pamela was honored to receive the Words of Wonder Fellowship from Dairy Hollow Writer’s Colony for her work in children’s literature. Pamela grew up on the south side of Chicago and now calls Central Illinois home. When she’s not writing, she volunteers with a local, site-specific, nonprofit theatre company, walks the trails with friends, and spends time with her kids. Pamela is represented by Tali Shammas.
