Storm Literary Agency

Boutique literary agency representing quality children's literature from exceptional authors and illustrators

First, there was a  teacher who loved books almost as much as she loved little children. Then, there was an artist who loved pirates, almost as much as he loved cats. As it turns out, that artist could also write, and that teacher loved the pirate stories he wrote. And she shared those stories with the children she taught. The children loved the pirate stories; they also loved the cats. They wanted more stories with pirates and cats. They also wanted an adventure! And the stories gave them so many adventures! And that is that: Storm Literary Agency came about because it needed to. The children requested it. And so did the cats.

Storm Literary Agency welcomes submissions from unique and talented authors and illustrators, those who are not afraid to embrace their capacity to teach, to entertain, to engage and to honor young people who, hopefully, will be changed by the work represented here.

Lisa Begin-Kruysman

According to Chinese star-gazers, Lisa Begin-Kruysman was born during the Hours and the Year of the Dog. It’s no surprise then, that Lisa has made canines the main focus of her award-winning works of Fiction and Non-Fiction, and social media platform. She is the two-time recipient of the Dog Writers Association of America’s Maxwell Medallion and the North Shore Animal League America Special Award and the author of Dog’s Best Friend: Will Judy, Founder of National Dog Week and Dog World Publisher. Lisa maintains a popular Facebook Page she established to keep the Week of the Dog alive and barking on the American Calendar each September and a blog inspired by issues affecting canine welfare in the United States and beyond.

In addition to her dog-writing, Lisa enjoys sharing the fascinating stories of important yet obscure individuals and their enduring legacies as well as the lesser-known chapters of the lives of well-known individuals.

Growing up in a pet-friendly home in Hackensack, New Jersey, Lisa’s love of reading and art was nurtured by her parents and beloved teachers. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Psychology and was employed as a Human Resource Associate for Home Box Office in New York City before establishing herself as a Fine Artist and author. These days her work is inspired by the licks and love of her adorable foster-to-forever dog, Teddy. Creating paintings and prose in her creekside studio at the “Jersey Shore”, with the support and encouragement of her husband, Rich, is what she enjoys most.
