Lisa Amstutz is the author of more than 80 science and history books for children and co-author of an adult book on the local food movement. She has written for a variety of magazines including Highlights, ASK, Ladybug, Mother Earth News, and Edible Michiana.
Lisa's background includes a B.A. in Biology from Goshen College and an M.S. in Ecology/Environmental Science from the University of Virginia. A former outdoor educator, Lisa specializes in topics related to science and agriculture.
Recent sales include Applesauce Day (Albert Whitman & Co., 2017), Finding A Dove for Gramps (Albert Whitman & Co., Fall 2018), AMPHIBIOLOGY (Chicago Review Press, forthcoming), and PLANTS FIGHT BACK (Dawn Publications, Fall, 2020).
Lisa currently serves as Assistant Regional Advisor for SCBWI: Ohio North and as a volunteer judge for Rate Your Story.
