Storm Literary Agency

Boutique literary agency representing quality literature from exceptional authors and illustrators

First, there was a  teacher who loved books almost as much as she loved little children. Then, there was an artist who loved pirates, almost as much as he loved cats. As it turns out, that artist could also write, and that teacher loved the pirate stories he wrote. And she shared those stories with the children she taught. The children loved the pirate stories; they also loved the cats. They wanted more stories with pirates and cats. They also wanted an adventure. And the stories gave them so many adventures. And that is that: Storm Literary Agency came about because it needed to. The children requested it. And so did the cats.

Storm Literary Agency welcomes submissions from unique and talented authors and illustrators, those who are not afraid to embrace their capacity to teach, to entertain, to engage and to honor people, young and old, who hopefully, will be changed by the work represented here.

Kyle McBride grew up drawing and traveling around the world with his family, following his father’s work. The family lived in Singapore and Australia for several years, where his favorite subject matter was “The Great White Quokka.”

He explored various mediums as a child. He painted landscapes with his grandmother in the summers, and sketched Star Wars spaceships in the margins of his homework.

His first Claymation production, The Blob’s Revenge, played to a packed couch of 3 relatives. It garnered rave reviews.

Kyle also pursued multiple musical interests. He plays the clarinet and saxophone and was a member of the University of Texas Longhorn Band for 5 years. He sings in a cover band of 50’s-70’s music, where he channels the spirit and voice of Elvis Presley.

In addition to his humorous and quirky children’s illustration, Kyle has also been a graphic designer and art director. His clients have included Ballet Austin, IBM, Dell, AT&T, Microsoft, HP, and Lennar Homes.

Kyle is a member of SCBWI and currently lives near Austin, TX with his wife and two daughters.
