Storm Literary Agency

Boutique literary agency representing quality literature from exceptional authors and illustrators

First, there was a  teacher who loved books almost as much as she loved little children. Then, there was an artist who loved pirates, almost as much as he loved cats. As it turns out, that artist could also write, and that teacher loved the pirate stories he wrote. And she shared those stories with the children she taught. The children loved the pirate stories; they also loved the cats. They wanted more stories with pirates and cats. They also wanted an adventure. And the stories gave them so many adventures. And that is that: Storm Literary Agency came about because it needed to. The children requested it. And so did the cats.

Storm Literary Agency welcomes submissions from unique and talented authors and illustrators, those who are not afraid to embrace their capacity to teach, to entertain, to engage and to honor people, young and old, who hopefully, will be changed by the work represented here.

Kimberly Wilson’s writing journey began as a third grader in Upstate New York with a butterfly trapper keeper, a pocket thesaurus, and an overflowing bookshelf.

After earning her BA from SUNY Geneseo, where she studied communication and creative writing, an internship brought her to North Carolina. There, she established a career in marketing before diving headfirst into her dream of writing for children.

As a full-time writer, Kimberly is an active member of the SCBWI, 12x12, and several critique groups. She is a pun-lover and enjoys mixing humor, heart, and educational details into her writing. She is the author of A Penny’s Worth (2022), A DOLLAR’S GRAND DREAM (July 11, 2023), and A CREDIT CARD TAKES CHARGE (Fall 2024), illustrated by Mark Hoffmann, published by Page Street Kids.

When not writing, Kimberly shares her love for books by volunteering with local literacy nonprofits through their Title I outreach programs. She also enjoys yoga, tennis, and family ping pong parties. Kimberly lives in Charlotte, NC, with her husband and two daughters.

Even though her trapper keeper is long gone, she always has her idea notebook (and coffee!) close by.
