Kate Stapleton
Kate Stapleton is a harpist, dancer, theatre and film producer, and writer. She grew up in the driftless ridges of Western Wisconsin, composing soap operas while hanging laundry on the line. She spent several years running a theatre company, unloading trucks of produce, getting lost in the mountains on the way to photograph farmers with secret stores of moonshine, and living in a cabin with no plumbing. She currently lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and their 6 children.
Kate is a co-host of the Visitation Sessions podcast and a member of the folk band The Stapletons. Her band has independently released 2 critically acclaimed albums, Thieves and Dreamers and Ballads and Battles and has been featured in the NPR Tiny Desk Contest. She is currently directing and producing a documentary about open adoption.
