Holly Jennings grew up in small-town Ontario with a teacher mom who introduced her to one of the most important places in the world: the local library. Her dad had his influence too, sharing Star Wars, Star Trek, and other wonderfully geeky fandoms. Thanks to both, she became a lifelong fan of sci-fi and fantasy.
After earning a psychology degree from the University of Ottawa, she worked in business and administration before returning to her first love: storytelling. Through kind and constructive critiques of her work, she discovered a knack for writing “sci-fi action movies in book form,” as seen in her arena novels. More recently, she’s shifted toward fantasy, bringing the same emotional intensity and layered world-building to quieter, more introspective tales. Her debut novel, Arena, was released by Ace Books in 2016 and won the American Library Association's Alex Award. By day, she works as an editor for a financial comparison website. In her spare time, she enjoys playing board games and studying writer's craft. She currently lives in Michigan with her husband. Holly is represented by Michelle Hauck. Publications
