Storm Literary Agency

Boutique literary agency representing quality literature from exceptional authors and illustrators

First, there was a  teacher who loved books almost as much as she loved little children. Then, there was an artist who loved pirates, almost as much as he loved cats. As it turns out, that artist could also write, and that teacher loved the pirate stories he wrote. And she shared those stories with the children she taught. The children loved the pirate stories; they also loved the cats. They wanted more stories with pirates and cats. They also wanted an adventure. And the stories gave them so many adventures. And that is that: Storm Literary Agency came about because it needed to. The children requested it. And so did the cats.

Storm Literary Agency welcomes submissions from unique and talented authors and illustrators, those who are not afraid to embrace their capacity to teach, to entertain, to engage and to honor people, young and old, who hopefully, will be changed by the work represented here.

Heidi Rizzi has enjoyed reading, writing and creating art since she was young.

One of the first books she found fascinating was a pop-up book of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. What a creative combination of story, illustration and design! And it didn’t hurt that the date the story occurs happens to be her birthday.

As an illustrator and graphic designer, Heidi has worked with a variety of local and national clients in diverse industries. With more than 20 years experience and numerous awards in art and graphic design, Heidi became interested in writing and illustrating children’s books after being inspired while reading to her young son. She may have enjoyed children’s books as much as he did!

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she moved to Florida when she was nine years old. After graduating from Ringling College of Art and Design, Heidi moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She still lives in the Atlanta area with her husband, son, and small dog, Pixel.

She is an active member of SCBWI through which she won a conference attendee scholarship, as well as making it to the final pro judging round of the SCBWI Southern Breeze Writing Contest.

In addition to creating, Heidi also enjoys music, movies, hiking, yoga, travelling, spending time with her family, and of course reading.
