Florence Migga
Florence Migga published her first story as a little girl. The now-defunct publication was a compilation of short stories from children across the United States. Florence’s entry about a girl who gets lost in a banana field in Uganda – but eventually finds her way home thanks to a magic chicken – made the cut.
The writing bug had officially taken root.
Florence continued writing all through her childhood. Her imagination guided her hand to write stories about everything from constellations to time travel. She was also chosen as cub reporter for her local city newspaper and went on to be a reporter for both her high school and college newspapers.
In 2010, Florence merged her love of writing and reading when she co-founded the book review blog Book Nerds Across America. The blog remains active after 10 years, and you can still find her and her friends sharing reviews of books, bookish movies, and bookish events. Florence loves reading all genres of books, but especially middle grade and young adult contemporary fiction and fantasy.
Florence never stopped creating fiction of her own, and wrote a few more stories as an adult. Encouraged by successfully completing NaNoWriMo in 2018, Florence submitted her next manuscript to Pitch Wars and was accepted into the class of 2019.
Currently, Florence loves living in sunny south Florida with her husband and son. When she isn’t writing or working on her tan, Florence enjoys happy hours, brunch, book clubs, and traveling.
