CHRISTOPHER DENOYER MASSEY has been a crew member on Roger Corman movies about half-dinosaur/half-crocodiles; a manager at a Malibu rehab; a room service waiter for a four-star Dublin hotel; a documentary producer and production coordinator; a Department of Mental Health Paperwork czar; a bookstore clerk; a salesman of cheap Christmas products at a makeshift booth in a Galway shopping mall; a pseudonymous poet published in a prestigious literary journal while posing as a disgruntled IT worker from Kaiser Permanente; and, for the last decade plus, a suburban dad, husband, psychotherapist, and writer.
Between adventures, he obtained a B.A. in Film Studies from UCSB, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, two years of training and board membership with the Pacific Gestalt Institute and the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Los Angeles, and, somehow, an actual license to practice therapy by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Chris lives and works in Los Angeles with his wife, the writer and Psychologist Dr. Haleh Massey, his two strong-willed yet wonderful children, and his pet goldfish, Donut. He writes crime fiction and horror as William DeNoyer, experimental/satirical/genre-blending fiction and poetry as Ron Anderson, and children’s fiction under his own name. In his free time, he likes to read, play Legos, go to concerts, watch movies, and join his wife on her quest for the perfect turkey sandwich.
