Brad Barkley is the author of Money, Love and Alison’s Automotive Repair Manual, named among the Best Books of the Year by The Washington Post and Library Journal. His short fiction has appeared in over 40 magazines including The Southern Review, Fractured Lit, The Georgia Review, and Virginia Quarterly Review, which twice awarded him the Emily Clark Balch Prize for Best Fiction. He’s published two collections of short stories and co-authored three young adult novels, Scrambled Eggs at Midnight, Dream Factory, and Jars of Glass, recognized by organizations such as the American Library Association and the Texas Institute of Letters. His work has been translated into German, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese, and he has received a Creative Writing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Brad lives with his wife, Kristin, in the Maryland mountains, where he writes, teaches, and drinks way too much coffee.
