Anna Carew
Anna Carew got her start in publishing as a reader, first with an internship for David Charles in England, then as a researcher for Chelsea House in New Haven. She started writing for publication while earning a Ph.D. in English and has a number of articles published in juried academic journals. While teaching literature to high school students, she continued to write, including numerous titles of children’s non-fiction for a book packager (Mason Crest) and marketing copy for independent schools. Anna’s super-power has been flipping the switch in reluctant adolescent readers who discovered complex and dark worlds–from Macbeth to Tommy Orange’s There, There–in her English classroom. Currently, Anna lives in the Washington, D.C. area and writes atmospheric suspense/mysteries for adult readers. When she isn’t writing, she’s hiking the nearby trails with her aged Border Collie, teaching herself botanical drawing, and watching British murder mysteries.
